Aspen’s presence in Sub-Saharan (SSA) Africa is through its wholly owned subsidiaries comprising Beta Healthcare which is based in Nairobi, Kenya and also in Kampala, Uganda; through Shelys in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania; and through Aspen Nigeria which is located in Lagos.
Aspen supplies a range of relevant pharmaceutical and OTC brands which address the disease profiles prevalent in SSA, and which are made accessible through a strong distribution network across this region. Aspen has manufacturing sites in Tanzania and Kenya, and marketing and distribution offices in Uganda and Nigeria. Some of the key SSA countries to which Aspen’s range of high quality products are distributed include Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, French West Africa, Mauritius, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria and others.
Aspen’s manufacturing facilities in Dar Es Salaam and in Nairobi manufacture tablets, capsules, syrups, oral liquids, external applications and powders. These two sites collectively produce almost 2 billion tablets, 2000 kilolitres of liquids and 10 tons of semi-solid products annually.
